THE WHYCATION PLANNING CHECKLIST

How to Plan Your First Purpose-Driven Trip

🧭 What is a Whycation?

A Whycation is a trip where you decide your motivation BEFORE your destination. Instead of asking “Where should I go?”, you ask “Why do I want to travel?” and let that answer guide you.

This checklist will help you plan your first intentional, purpose-driven trip in 2026.

STEP 1: DISCOVER YOUR “WHY”

Before you book anything, identify what you truly need from this trip. Check the box next to the motivation that resonates most:

☐ RECHARGE – I need rest, silence, and disconnection from daily stress

☐ RECONNECT – I want to deepen relationships with family or friends

☐ REDISCOVER – I want to trace my roots and explore my heritage

☐ LEARN – I want to develop a skill or explore a passion

☐ EXPERIENCE – I want to attend a specific event or cultural moment

☐ ADVENTURE – I want raw nature and physical challenge

☐ NOURISH – I want to focus on food, wine, or wellness
